EVAN stands for the Evansville Voters Accountability Network. We are neighbors in Evansville and Vanderburgh County who believe local government should answer to the whole community, not only to the people who make the most noise or the few who get elevated above everyone else.
We are not a political party and we are not for sale. We do not care whether an idea comes from the left or the right. We care whether it is honest, whether it serves the people who live here, and whether our leaders are willing to be transparent about it.
What we believe
Local decisions shape daily life more than almost anything that happens in Washington. Roads, schools, budgets, permits, public safety, and how tax dollars get spent are decided close to home, often in rooms most people never see. When citizens pay attention and show up, those decisions get better. When they do not, a small group decides for everyone.
Our principles
- Transparency first. Public business belongs to the public. Meetings, budgets, contracts, and records should be open and easy to find.
- Accountability without apology. We judge officials by their records and their results, not their promises or their party.
- Facts over noise. Every claim we make is tied to a primary source: minutes, votes, records, or an official document you can check yourself.
- Unity over division. We look for the shared values that most people in this region agree on: hard work, integrity, family, and service.
- Everyone has a seat. You do not need money, connections, or a title to be heard. You just need to show up, and we will show you how.
